Goal: The goal of this game is to win by collecting the most points within a certain time or point limit, or to collect as many points as possible.
 
Step # 1:  (prep) Print and laminate all the cards. Place them all face down on a table or upon a whiteboard in a grid-like fashion. Print and laminate the cue cards (you and/or the students may use this a reference for forming questions/answers when playing the bomb game.
 
Step # 2:  (prep) Split the students into two teams: 1 ninja team and 1 viking team. Have them sit around a table or in front of a whiteboard.
 
Step # 3: (explaining the game) Explain to the students that they may earn random amounts of points, swap/change points, times 3 points, or become invincible to the bomb card, depending on the card they pick up. Furthermore, if they or their team collect 5 of the opposing teams bomb cards they will lose all their points. For instance, in ninjas vs vikings, if the ninja team collects 5 viking bomb cards this will result in the ninja team losing all their points. If they draw their own ninja bomb card they should simply return that card, and the next player will take their turn.
 
Step # 4: (starting/playing the game)
 
Version # 1: The player to the teacher’s left may start by picking up a card. The student should make make a comparative sentence pertaining to ninjas and vikings (and also involving the vocabulary given on the card if the students English lever permits it.) For example, if a student draws the ''sandals' card the student might say, "Ninjas are quieter than vikings." That student/team may then earn the reward/point(s) outlined on the card. If they are unable to complete the comparative sentence or other target language task given by the teacher they must return the card without receiving the point or benefit of the card (if it is a bomb card they should keep the card regardless). The teacher may end the game when 5 bomb cards are drawn or reshuffle the cards and continue the game. The teacher may also set an amount of points to reach before collecting 5 bomb cards in order to win the game, or set a time limit for the game.
