Some ESL conversation questions in the lesson include:
What kind of traveler are you? What are some places you traveled to domestically that you enjoyed? How about abroad? Have you ever been on a guided tour? How was it? Have you ever traveled independently? How was it? Are you or anyone you know a trendsetter? How about a free spirit? Do you get enough me time? How do you spend your me time? If someone is late, how much of a grace period do you typically like to give them before you start getting upset? What do you have the most free rein with in your life?
me time: time when you can do what you want to do
I haven't been getting enough me time since me and my man moved into together. It's time for a vacation and some me time.
grace period: a period of time allowed before something has to be finished or before a debt or loan has to be repaid
I like to go on guided tours because I like to get a lot done. If I travel independently with a friend or family I have to give them a lot of grace periods. When I go on guided tours the schedule is tight, and there aren't a lot of lengthy grace periods.
free hand/ free rein: the freedom to do, say, or feel what you want
I like to travel independently because I get complete free rein on what I am going to do and when I do it.
free spirit: a person who does what they want with enjoyment and pleasure and does not feel limited by the usual rules of social behavior
She can't do guided tours because she is too much of a free spirit. She kept getting left behind on the last guided tour we went on together.
trendsetter - a person, organization, etc. that starts to do something that others then copy
I like to travel on guided tours because I can easily follow and experience the trends that have been set by the local trendsetters.
